Summer is a time for fun, but it brings serious risks for pets, especially during holiday celebrations. Keep your furry family members safe with these quick tips:

Firework Safety

  • Keep pets indoors in a quiet, secure space.

  • Update ID tags & microchips in case they escape.

  • Never bring pets to fireworks shows.

BBQ & Party Hazards

  • Dangerous foods: Bones, fatty meats, onions, grapes, and alcohol.

  • Keep grill tools & trash out of reach.

  • Secure leftovers and trash bins.

Heat & Humidity Safety

  • Never leave pets in parked cars.

  • Walk pets during cooler times (morning or evening).

  • Watch for heatstroke signs:

  • Panting, drooling, weakness, vomiting, collapse.

Protect Against Pests

  • Use year-round flea, tick, & heartworm preventatives.

  • Check pets for ticks after outdoor activities.

Know What to Do in an Emergency!

Seek Immediate Help If Your Pet:

  • Has difficulty breathing or collapses

  • Has burns, cuts, or other trauma

  • Has persistent vomiting or diarrhea

  • Has ingested toxic foods or substances

  • Shows signs of heatstroke or severe dehydration
